I've worked in newspapers for most of my life (seriously, beginning with a paper route at age 11). My loves are news, great reading and great writing. I love politics, baseball, football and dance. Can't do any of them, but I love them all the same. Hugely love classical music and going to hear the L.A. Philharmonic. I'm married to a fellow journalist and we have a daughter who will outshine us both. Actually, she sort of already does. Very interested in gender equality issues and how news organizations are (or are not) changing with the times.
