Alaina Percival spent the first three years of her career working at the PUMA headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany as the international niche product manager. Upon completion of her MBA, Percival accepted a brand marketing manager position for Nfinity, a performance footwear company, where she led the rollout of the first women-specific volleyball and basketball shoes. Her migration to the technical sector took place in 2010 and her tech industry experience includes heading up developer outreach at Riviera Partners in addition to working as the director of marketing for Snipit – a start-up that was eventually acquired by Yahoo!
Today, Percival is an advisor to CodePath, the first mobile developer school for engineers that is free. She has been involved with Women Who Code since 2011 and drives the organization’s strategic goals, partnerships, and sponsorships. Of note, she was invited to speak at the Belfast Technology Conference in April of this year, which brought together business leaders and politicians from Belfast, Europe, and the United States to discuss emerging technologies and best technology industry practices. Percival has also been a featured speaker at She Talks Forum discussing Women In Tech, The O’Reilly Fluent Conference discussing how to master the technologies driving the web, and has been interviewed by the Huffington Post and Women 2.0, a leading media brand, to share her expertise on best practices for female engineers to advance their careers. Percival lives in the San Francisco Bay area with her husband and is active in both the technology and education circles. She has traveled to more than 60 countries and speaks fluent German.
