Donna Myrow
Youth News Service/L.A. Youth Youth media executive
Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1988 Hazelwood v Kuhlmeier decision that allowed school administrators to censor student newspapers, I conceived and launched L.A. Youth, the newspaper by and about teens. I planned and oversaw its growth into the most prominent youth publication in the country, with award-winning issues with a readership of 500,000 teens and adults. The 25-year archive will be transferred to UCLA library in 2014.
