Katina Alexander Dunn
Director and producer Katina Alexander Dunn was born in Chicago and worked as production manager, art director, feature writer, columnist and editor for publications such as Triad, Chicago SunTimes, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, Newsweek, New York Times, Core Media weeklies and the Orange County Register.
“Kumpania” is her first feature documentary, about a hidden subculture of Los Angeles never seen on film before. Dunn studied documentary filmmaking at seminars sponsored by the International Documentary Association and Film Independent; and was accepted to Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School in 2010.
“Kumpania” has been awarded the Audience Award at Madrid International Film Festival, Best Documentary at On Location Memphis Film and Music Festival, Best Documentary at Lagniappe Film and Music Festival, Best Documentary at Peloponnesus International Film Festival and the Audience Award at Buffalo International Film Festival.
